Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Colleen Wiessmann has been active in the arts her whole life. She studied at the School of New York, Botanical Gardens, and went on to become a successful Plantscaper for 25 years. Now living on Seabrook Island, SC, Colleen's love of texture and design plays a major role in her paintings.
"I like to tell a story in my abstract paintings, through words, lines and symbols. I use collaIge and layering techniques to create multiple dimensions in my works. Ultimately, I want to capture the viewer's eye and their emotions. The inspiration for my artwork comes from memories deep inside of me, experiences and spirituality. By channeling my energy into the creative process my work becomes both a part of me and a reflection of life as seen through an artist's eye."
